WINCANTON ARRANGES STABLE VISITS FOR RACEGOERS

Press Release 6th February 2017 Wincanton

Monday, 6th February 2017 – Horseracing fans can enjoy their sport most days, however insightful stable tours are traditionally reserved for racehorse owners – not the case for Wincanton racegoers.

Wincanton Racecourse is offering its annual members and loyal racegoers the chance to experience a morning on the gallops with local trainer, Seamus Mullins.

As part of Wincanton’s strategy to get racegoers even closer to the action and to enhance their understanding of the sport, the Somerset course has arranged a Seamus Mullins stable tour on Wednesday, 1st March.

Ahead of racing that day, racegoers will congress at Wincanton for customarily bacon butties, before departing on a private coach to the Salisbury yard of Seamus Mullins. The behind the scenes tour will include a morning on the gallops, followed by a speedy return to enjoy afternoon racing sponsored by Lycetts Insurance Brokers.

Tickets for the tour start from £16 for members with a £5 increase for racegoers.  To book call 01963 435840.

Huw Williams, Wincanton’s General Manager, explains: “For the last five seasons we have treated our annual members to numerous stable visits, taking in Paul Nicholls, Colin Tizzard, Harry Fry and other West Country establishments.

“Interest continues to grow around these ever-popular stable tours, and I am pleased that we have been able to extend the offering to include our dedicated racegoers.”

Advance tickets for afternoon racing on Wednesday, 1st March start from £12, increasing to £16 on the day with the course operating one enclosure for the mid-week fixture.  Book now on 0344 579 3014 or wincanton.thejockeyclub.co.uk
