Wylye Valley Pony Club Racing and PRA Taster Day
Pony Racing Taster Days are unmounted, aimed at all children from 7 – 16 years of age and are free of charge for the whole family. The aim of the day is to show children and their families what is needed to take part in a pony race as well as have a great day out!
You don’t need a pony—just bring yourself! Try your hand at a horse simulator with guidance from a qualified coach. Learn about the fitness needed to ride in a pony race, then take a behind-the-scenes tour of the racecourse. Discover the racing tack and equipment used by ponies and jockeys, and find out how you can get involved, whether or not you own a pony.
Catering will be available on-site all day, so make it a fun family outing and bring everyone along - dogs are also welcome!

Wylye Valley Pony Club Racing
Pony Racing Taster Days usually run alongside a Pony Club Race Day so that participants have an opportunity to see the sport in action in the afternoon. After the Taster session, enjoy the excitement of 8 pony races hosted by the Wylye Valley Pony Club.
Racing kicks off at 1pm with over 80 entries. Entry is free, and there will be refreshments and food available, all set against the lively atmosphere of a typical race meeting—only this time, with ponies of all shapes and sizes!
