The 2025 Grand National takes place on Saturday 5th April, and we will see three days of exciting racing at Aintree. Ahead of this world-class week of racing, we are here to outline the very best Grand National offers from our partners.

Things to Consider Before Using Your Grand National Free Bets

No matter which offer you claim ahead of the Grand National, you will need to place a minimum bet, which will be outlined by the individual bookmaker. The most common amounts are £5 and £10, but some bookmakers allow you to make a minimum bet that is as little as 5p. There would still be a higher deposit required though, in line with the typical £5 or £10 number. In addition to a minimum bet value, there is generally a minimum odds requirement. What you might not have done is looked into what those free bets can be used on. Sometimes, the free bets you receive will be allocated on certain events or sports. For example, you might receive £40 in free bets, but only £10 of that can be used on Horse Racing. You need to read the terms and conditions to fully understand what your free bets can be used on.

Wagering requirements are a way for bookmakers to ensure customers do not claim their free bets, win straight away and then just withdraw and leave. Most bookmakers will have a wagering requirement or a turnover requirement in place, which will typically be a multiplier of the free bets reward. Once you have wagered at least the stipulated amount, you will then be able to withdraw your funds as normal.

Most bookmakers will give you 7 days to use your recently awarded free bets, some might even give you 30 days, but it is important that you check when your free bets must be used by. The last thing you want is to unlock free bets for the Grand National, and then not use them in time, as they will expire and there will be no way of getting them back. Once you have considered all the stipulations above, it is then down to personal preference when it comes to using your Grand National free bets. As we have said before, bookmakers may expect you to bet on certain markets or hit certain minimum odds requirements, but in terms of what horses you can bet on, that is down to you.

Types of Grand National Free Bets

If you are a new customer, this is the most common free bet type you will see ahead of the Grand National. Users can claim huge bonuses, ranging from bet £5, get £20, through to bet £10, get £60, and everything in between. There are some bookmakers who will also offer a bet and get to existing customers, for example, you could bet £10 on the Grand National and get £10 in free bets win or lose, but this type of offer will be confirmed by each bookmaker during the week.

 There could be a world in which bookmakers offer risk-free bets for the Grand National. So it could be that you log on during the Grand National week, and see that your bookmaker is offering you the chance to bet £5 on the Grand National and get your money back if you lose. The difference between some bookmakers is that one may offer your money back as cash and others may offer it back in free bets. You will need to check out your chosen bookmakers promotions that week for more information.

On a similar line of thinking, some bookmakers will offer a completely free bet to their users. So it may be that you receive a completely free £2 bet for the Grand National. The value of such a free bet will vary by account, and only a select group of bookmakers will potentially offer this, so stay on the lookout for such an offer.
