The Jockey Club today announces the appointment of Rachel Squires as the new General Manager of Nottingham Racecourse.
Squires has worked for Jockey Club Racecourses for the past six years, most recently as National Hospitality Sales Executive. She has consistently proved herself as one of the leading sales executives within the business by regularly exceeding targets, mentoring peers, and delivering innovation.
Rachel Squires said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be making this career move within Jockey Club Racecourses.
“While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working in sales, I was interested in facing a different kind of challenge and am delighted to be doing this within Jockey Club Racecourses.
“Being a General Manager will be something different for me and I can’t wait to get started at Nottingham, especially with the 2024 Flat season fast approaching.”
James Wilcox, who was previously General Manager at Nottingham, makes the move to another Jockey Club Racecourse, Epsom Downs, where he will become Operations Manager.
Nadia Powell, Racecourse and Industry Relations Director at The Jockey Club, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rachel as the new General Manager of Nottingham Racecourse.
“Rachael brings wide-ranging skillsets to the table and I am sure she will make a great success of her new role.
“I would like to thank James Wilcox for all his hard work over the past four years and wish him all the best in his new position at Epsom Downs.”
