Racing Highlights
Sadly we once again had to call time early on in our season as for the second year running the final day was lost to a waterlogged track- indeed the season is one we’ll remember for some great horses- and some desperate luck with the rain!
There’s no doubt about the one moment in the season that really had a ‘wow’ factor, and that was on 21st July when Vandeek, trained by Simon and Ed Crisford made a spectacular winning debut.
He went on to emerge as one of the best juveniles in Europe in 2023 following up by winning the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and then a spectacular Group 1 double in the Prix Morny in France and the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
We’re proud of the record Nottingham Racecourse has for hosting two year olds that go on to great things in their classic year and there’s every chance of more of the same in 2024. The Ralph Beckett pair, Valvano and Treasure(in the Royal Colours) who won on their debuts on what turned out to be our final meeting of the season are already in many a notebook!
Congratulations to Rob Hornby who saw off Rossa Ryan by a single point to land the Fairfax Top Jockey competition for the second season running, while Ralph Beckett, who has had a memorable season all over Britain and beyond, ran away with our top trainer competition.
We all have our own personal highlights, which for many involved a trip to the payout queue and wins to buy a new form book! With outsiders One for Bobby (1-2) and Rajinsky(16-1) landing our two marquee Listed Races it's been tough for punters- but also very exciting.
2024 Season Ticket
Our Season Ticket for 2024 is on sale now, with reciprocals starting in January. We have some exciting additions to the package, including the ability for you as a season ticket holder to bring a guest with you to Nottingham for just £5. This is limited to 4 times during the season and excludes Ladies Day, 11th May & Music Night, 6th July. This offer can be claimed on the day of racing at the main entrance.
We are also running a ‘Refer a Friend’ offer. All you have to do is let us know a friend you think would love being a Season Ticket Holder and if that friend becomes a new Season Ticket Holder, you will both get £15 worth of food & drink vouchers or racecard vouchers (your choice). It really does pay to have friends!
