Masar and Roaring Lion will complete their preparations for the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park on 7th July when they take part in racecourse gallops at Newmarket’s Adnams July Course tomorrow (Saturday).
A son of New Approach owned and bred by Godolphin and trained by Charlie Appleby, Masar finished third in the Group 1 QIPCO 2000 Guineas prior to landing the Group 1 Investec Derby.
He will arrive at the course at around 5.45am. At 6.00am he will be ridden by his regular work-rider, Brett Doyle, in a seven furlong gallop with two lead horses.
Roaring Lion will be in action just over six hours later at 12.10pm, one hour before the start of a seven-race Adnams July Course card, featuring the Group 3 Betway Criterion Stakes. The plan is for him to arrive at the course around 11.45am.
A son of Kitten’s Joy owned by Qatar Racing Limited and trained by John Gosden, Roaring Lion won the Group 2 Betfred Dante Stakes at York before finishing third, two lengths behind Masar, in the Investec Derby. He will be accompanied by one lead horse in a seven furlong workout.
