BETFRED GUINEAS FRIDAY

The stage is set for one of the most significant and thrilling events of the Flat season – The Betfred Guineas Festival 2025.

On Day 1, the excitement unfolds rapidly with two Listed races: The Newmarket Stakes and the Betfred King Charles II Stakes. The highlight of the day takes center stage in the form of the Group 2 spectacle, The Betfred Jockey Club Stakes, a captivating race covering a mile and a half.

Previous winners of this race include Hurricane Lane, owned by Godolphin, trained by Charlie Appleby, and ridden by William Buick.

The leading contenders from the Betfred Jockey Club Stakes often go on to compete in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom Downs Racecourse. Shirocco is the most recent horse to win both races in the same year (2006).
