This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.
Introduction
Situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds, Market Rasen Racecourse offers 22 race meetings with jump racing all year round. The Racecourse is located 5 minutes from Market Rasen Town centre, 30 minutes by car from Lincoln and 35 Minutes by car from Grimsby.
The Racecourse grounds are mostly flat with some gradual declines within. Wheelchair access is provided at entrances to all enclosures. Members of staff are on site to help if you need any assistance.

The surrounding area as you approach the course offers level pavement

Car Parking and Arrival
Free parking is available across the site. Blue Badge parking is available on a first come first serve basis and we would advise getting to us in good time ahead of the gates opening.
Within the Main Public Car Park, the Blue Badge parking is located approximately 50 meters from the main Tattersalls Entrance and approximately 200 meters from the Lawn Enclosure entrance.
There is a drop off point outside the stable yard on Legsby Road this is approximately 50 meters from the Tattersalls Entrance
Personal Assistance and Assistance Dogs Admission Policy
RACEDAYS
If you need a personal assistant to attend the event - we do offer a PA goes free scheme which can be redeemed on the day of the event once we have confirmed your eligibility.
Request a Personal Assistant Ticket
Provided that you purchase a valid admission ticket for yourself, you are entitled to apply for one complimentary admission ticket for the same event for the person who is accompanying you to assist you as a personal assistant. The personal assistant must be able to provide you with appropriate assistance which might include:
a) assisting you in moving around the racecourse;
b) helping you evacuate the racecourse in the event of an emergency;
c) accompanying and/or assisting you in using the racecourse’s toilets;
d) Assisting you in purchasing refreshments and food or using other services
Please note that the personal assistant admission policy does not apply to disabled persons age 17 and under as it is the racecourse policy that all persons aged 17 and under must be accompanied at all times in any event by a responsible adult who must purchase their own ticket. Children aged 17 and below must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and above.
Please note our Personal Assistant Policy does not apply to customers with temporary impairments such as broken bones, healing wounds, and women who are pregnant.
Personal Assistant tickets will not be available for anyone who has not purchased directly from Market Rasen Racecourse or Jockey Club Live.
Personal Assistance Tickets Conditions
The free admission ticket provided to your personal assistant will carry the same conditions as the admission ticket that you hold.
A personal assistant is required to accompany the Disabled patron at all times; this is to ensure they are supported in the event of an emergency.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for complimentary personal assistant admission are regularly reviewed and the racecourse reserves the right to update them from time to time. Currently, those who receive one of the following benefits are eligible to receive a complimentary personal assistant ticket:
a) Disability Living Allowance (DLA);
b) Attendance Allowance (AA);
c) Personal Independence Payment (PIP);
d) Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).
Additionally, people who are Registered Blind are also eligible.
Please note that, in all cases, the racecourse reserves the right to nevertheless decline to accept an application or to request additional evidence if, in the racecourse's view and discretion, there is reasonable doubt that the applicant would be at a substantial disadvantage in attending without a personal assistant given the accessible facilities and services available at the racecourse.
What proof of eligibility needs to be provided?
To prove eligibility you will need to provide the following in respect of one the benefits referred to in (3) above:
a) A copy of the awarding letter from DWP or statement confirming receipt of the allowance
b) Photo ID which matches the details of the recipient of the above, with date of birth
c) Statement of why you may need a personal assistant to accompany you.
Alternatively, if you are a Registered Blind Person then a photocopy of certification and matching photo ID is required.
Please note that a Blue Badge is not accepted as evidence of eligibility.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome to attend with their owners without additional charge. We do suggest owners contact the racecourse in advance when booking your tickets so we can advise you on the expected attendance for your event date and the facilities available for yourself and your assistance dog.
PERSONAL ASSISTANTS – RACING & MUSIC EVENTS
Due to the popularity of our racing and music events the venue may reach capacity which means we are unable to provide personal assistant tickets. With that in mind to secure a personal assistant ticket you need to apply for a ticket at the time of purchasing your entry ticket. To avoid disappointment please be prompt in providing the requested documentation. We are unable to accept applications requested less than 10 working days before the raceday. Please note our personal assistant policy does not apply to customers with temporary impairments such as broken bones, healing wounds and women who are pregnant.

Main Entrance, Reception and Ticketing Area
The entrance to each enclosure is located on the ground floor. The Main Members entrance to the County Enclosure and entrance to the Lawn Enclosure are step free. The Tattersalls and Owners and Trainers Entrance has a slight step.
The floor within the entrance areas are level and have hard surfaces

Attractions (displays, exhibits, rides etc.)
- The races are shown live on the big screen in the center of the course
- The races are also shown on all TV's around the site in the Bar's, Restaurant and Hospitality Suites
- Interpretation boards can be found outside the main areas of the course such as the Winner Enclosure, Weighing Room and Pre-Parade Ring to explain more about the area and what happens within it
- Seating is available throughout the site, please note that this is on a first come first serve basis. You are permitted to bring fold-up furniture with you on our County and Family Extravaganza days in all enclosures. On our feature meetings furniture is only permitted into our Lawn Enclosure only. Bringing your own furniture into County and Tattersalls on our feature meetings will require a letter from our management team, which can be requested by calling the racecourse office on 01673 843434.
- The Surfaces within each enclosure vary, this ranges between patio, tarmac, and grass with carpeted areas within the bars
- At night the site is lit with fluorescent lights
- The bars are lit with mostly ceiling spotlights
Public Toilets
Unisex WCs are available on site within all enclosures. These are located behind The Limber Hill Bar, within Altior's Restaurant (County Enclosure), within AP's Bar, Tote Exacta Bar (Tattersalls Enclosure), next to the Lawn Enclosure Entrance and Opposite the play park within the Lawn Enclosure
Catering
- We have a range of catering facilities throughout the Racecourse: County Enclosure - there is the Tiger Roll Bar, please note there is a step into this facility. Tattersallls Enclosure - Red Rum Bar, Tote Exacta Bar and AP's Bar. Please note there are two steps into the AP's Bar. Lawn Enclosure - Victor Lucas Bar and a range of food concession units
- The flooring within each bar varies from solid wood to short pile carpet
- If you have any specific dietary requirements please ask a member of staff
