The Jockey Club Live and Sandown Park Racecourse are delighted to reveal pop band McFLY as the final addition to their 2024 summer season. The band will headline on Thursday 8th August, joining previously announced Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics (Friday 26th July) and Madness (Wednesday 31st July).
It’s been 21 years since McFly first formed, a journey which has taken them from their breakthrough hit ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ to last year’s full-force rock album ‘Power To Play’. Along the way, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have scored seven #1 singles, seven Top 10 albums, 10 million sales, a BRIT Award, sold out countless arena shows and still remains the youngest band ever to have a debut album go straight to number 1, beating The Beatles.
2024 is set to be another busy year for the quartet, from Danny Jones winning ITV’s Masked Singer to being revealed as a joint judge on The Voice with band-mate Tom Fletcher. Now, they prepare to play all their hits and fan favourites from the past twenty-one years at Sandown Park Racecourse.
Sarah Drabwell, General Manager, Sandown Park Racecourse, said
“McFly truly brought the party to Sandown Park back in 2010, and we can’t wait to welcome them back in their 21st year as a band. Our line-up this Summer has something for everyone, from the ska sensibilities of Madness to the dancefloor-filling hits of Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics. Bring on the Summer!”
McFly said
“We can’t believe it’s been 14 years since we last played Sandown Park – we’re long overdue a return trip! It’s crazy to think that it has been 21 years since McFly was formed. We don’t take it for granted that after all this time people still want to hear new music from us and come to see us play live. We can’t wait to see and celebrate with you all!”
