Huntingdon Racecourse Committee Members

 

Local farmer and businessman who has been involved with Huntingdon for fifty years since first attending pony club camp at the racecourse. Keen fan of national racing and point to point owner and trainer. 

 

JW has been a member of the Huntingdon Committee since 2018. A former winner of Burghley Horse Trials and European silver medallist, Jane has also ridden and trained point to pointer winners.

 

Jane has prepped youngsters for training and  is still involved in the retraining of racehorses.

 

Jane currently has shares in two small syndicates, one a point to pointer and one due to make its debut under rules in the autumn.

 

Jane is an accredited British Horse Society coach and an Equestrian Expert Witness.

 

She is married to Major Malcolm Wallace, now retired, former Director General of the British Equestrian Federation, Olympic Team Manager and The Jockey Club’s Director of Regulation.

 

Mark joined the Committee in 2017. He is a passionate supporter of National Hunt racing and has had horses in training for over twenty years both in England and France.


Mark brings substantial commercial experience to the Committee, having spent a career in financial services, for the last two decades in executive and non-executive roles with mutual organisations. He is currently non-executive and Chair designate for a mutual insurance company and a Governor and Chair of Finance at the King’s School Ely.


Outside racing his man interests are music and birdwatching. His is married to Fiona and has two children and recently became a proud grandfather for the first time.

 

Bobby is a lifelong horseracing fan. Having taken part in the British Horseracing Development Programme straight out of university, he has worked at Whitsbury Manor Stud, Salisbury Racecourse, the BHA, Great British Racing International and has now been part of the team at Tattersalls for seven years.   

 

Joining the committee in 2021, Bobby has particularly enjoyed bringing his young family to Huntingdon as well as his dog Luka, since the introduction of allowing dogs on track. 

 

Marcia has a deep love for the English countryside and all the outdoor country sports it offers. Her passion for horses started young, with her riding from the age of two, and she is now teaching her grandchildren. After dedicating many years to child education, Marcia is continuing to pursue her lifelong interest in racing, this has culminated in her appointment as a Director at Huntingdon in 2022.

 

Steve enjoyed a long and successful career with Lloyds Banking Group, with over twenty years in senior leadership positions.

 

He now runs his own coaching and mentoring business, is Chief Operating Officer in an R&D tax credit business, Chair of West Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Love Newmarket BID and an Honorary Ambassador with RAF Lakenheath. In his spare time, he enjoys most sports, these days more as a spectator than a participant!
