HAYDOCK PARK has been crowned one of the best racecourses in the country for the experience it offers to customers.
Two Jockey Club Racecourses located on Merseyside – Aintree and Haydock Park – both provided excellent experiences before, during and after racing to claim a top 10 spot on the list – out of a total of 59 racecourses across the country.
The Racecourse Association’s (RCA) Quality Assured Racecourse Scheme, established in 2013, gives every racecourse the opportunity to have its raceday experience objectively assessed by a trained assessor from VisitEngland or VisitScotland.
The assessments analyse all customer touchpoints including pre-raceday information, the ticket buying process, the on-course experience and post-raceday communications.
Aintree is of course home to the world-famous Randox Grand National while Haydock Park is a busy year-round venue offering both top-class Flat and Jump racing.
Dickon White, Aintree & North West Director, The Jockey Club, said: “When you consider there are 59 racecourses in the UK, for Merseyside to have two of the top 10 as independently-assessed by VisitEngland/VisitScotland is quite some achievement.
“Aintree and Haydock Park are two very different venues but both take our core value of being open and welcoming to all very seriously. A day at the races offers the chance for quality leisure time and it is our aim to make it the best possible experience for each and every one of our customers.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff across the two racecourses for everything they do. It is very satisfying to see everyone’s hard work recognised in this way.”
Te top 10 racecourses under QARS included another Jockey Club Racecourse, Newmarket in Suffolk, as well as Beverley, Chelmsford City, Chester, Ludlow, Newbury, Salisbury and York
