We welcome you back to Best Mate Chase Day, on Tuesday 22 October.
A day to celebrate the life of one of the true great horses in history. Best Mate won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2002, 2003, and 2004 with jockey Jim Culloty, matching the record of Arkle. He won the 2002 King George VI Chase and the 2003 Ericsson Chase. His last race was seen at Exeter Racecourse where a memorial to commemorate his life is situated outside the weighing room.
Past winners of the Best Mate Chase include Sternrubin and Yanworth who both went on to appear at The Festival.
