MORE THAN 300 DIAL IN TO SECOND ‘TOWN HALL’ WEBINAR

 

Our second live ‘Town Hall’ webinar for all Jockey Club employees saw more than 300 of you dial in to hear updates from across the Group on Friday 1st May.

 

The session was hosted by Delia Bushell, our Group Chief Executive, who was joined first by Sandy Dudgeon. Our Senior Steward updated employees on the work going on behind the scenes to get our racecourses ready for racing’s return and explained how the Stewards have been meeting during ‘lockdown’.

 

Phil White, London Regional Director, gave a wide-ranging update on issues including plans to stage this year’s Investec Derby ‘behind closed doors’, how the C&E teams are coping faced with a unique set of challenges and the importance of the Allies Programme in looking after colleagues’ mental and physical health.  

Matthew Woolston, our Group Assistant Racing Director, talked about the role The Jockey Club is playing in the Resumption of Racing Group, while Debbie Whitcombe, Acting HR Director, had an update for employees on furlough leave and explained how annual leave is being treated in 2020.

 

Andre Klein, General Manager at Warwick, shared news from around the Group on how our racecourse teams are supporting their communities before the panel answered employees’ questions.

 

The webinar finished with a twist when Delia introduced a ‘Special Guest’. Lara Telfer, the South West’s Regional Marketing Manager, is a finalist in Racing Welfare’s Furlong Factor and performed at the very end of the session.

 

The next ‘Town Hall’ is scheduled for May15th, when Delia will once again be joined by a number of panellists from around the Group. Keep checking The Jockey Club Hub for more details.
