Competition Terms & Conditions


1. The Promoter is France Galop, a limited company incorporated in France and having its registered address at 15 Boulevard de Douaumont CS 64440 75819 Paris Cedex, France (the “Promoter”).

 

2. This competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person is allowed.

 

3. This competition starts Wednesday 24th July 2024 and closes 11:59pm Wednesday 14th August 2024.

 

4. To qualify to enter the Competition you must be a resident in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and/or the Isle of Man.

 

5. The Competition is only open to entrants over the age of 18, and to those who have submitted a form via the competition page.

 

6. One winner will be picked at random on Friday 16th August 2024 and notified via email or telephone. Confirmation of acceptance of the prize (2 x tickets to the Winning Post Enclosure on Sunday 6th October, x2 meals at Bistro Triomphe worth €170 each, travel and accommodation for a total amount of €1,000 all tax included) must be made by Tuesday 20th August 2024. Failure to claim the prize (2 x tickets to the Winning Post Enclosure on Sunday 6th October, x2 meals at Bistro Triomphe worth €170 each, travel and accommodation for a total amount of €1,000 all tax included) will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner before selection of an alternative winner is made.

 

7. One prize is available to be won. The prize contains 2 x tickets to the Winning Post Enclosure on Sunday 6th October, x2 meals at Bistro Triomphe worth €170 each, travel and accommodation for a total amount of €1,000 all tax included. Sale or exchange of the prizes is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to sell, transfer or exchange a prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by the Promoter and the prize will be declared null and void.

 

8. If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the Competition or invalidate any affected entries. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.

 

9. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winners and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of Competition entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the Competition or won using fraudulent means.

 

10. The Promoter will not be responsible if the winner or their guest is unable to attend the 2024 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe due to health or other reasons.

 

11. The Promoter will not be liable if the 2024 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is cancelled, delayed or suspended as a result of an act, omission, event or circumstance which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.

 

12. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Competition or accepting or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.

 

13. This Competition is not open to employees of The Jockey Club or the Promoter, their families, agents, clients, suppliers, retailers, merchants or associates.

 

14. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, alter, vary, suspend or withdraw this promotion as the Promoter deems necessary in its absolute sole discretion.

 

15. The Promoter shall have the right in its absolute sole discretion to substitute any prize with one of equivalent or greater value. The prize or its alternative must be accepted as offered. No cash alternative will be offered in whole or in part in connection with this promotion.

 

16. By entering this Competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering prize fulfilment, it is necessary for The Jockey Club and the Promoter to securely hold and process your personal data.

 

17. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing that the personal information that you provided is processed in accordance with The Jockey Club’s Privacy Policy.

 

18. Privacy and Personal Data (Promoter): In order to participate in this Competition you will need to provide the Promoter with your personal data. For information on how the Promoter will use your personal data and how you may exercise your rights in respect of that information, please refer to the Promoter's Privacy Notice which can be found at https://www.france-galop.com/en/data-protection-policy.

 

19. Privacy and Personal Data (The Jockey Club): Data relating to entrants of the Competition will be retained by The Jockey Club for a reasonable period after the Competition closes to assist The Jockey Club to operate competitions in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries in the Competition. The winner agrees to the release of their first initial and surname and county of residence to any other prize draw participants if requested via The Jockey Club.

 

20. Marketing (Promoter): The Promoter may process your personal data for marketing purposes with your consent, based on a legitimate business interest, or as otherwise permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting the Promoter at contact-data-protection@france-galop.com.

 

21. If there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion invalidate the prize and disqualify the entrant from the Competition.

 

22. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

 

23. Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on English law and the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction unless you live in another part of the United Kingdom, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
