Cheltenham Racecourse is delighted to announce that St. James's Place Wealth Management is to extend its sponsorship of the Foxhunter Chase at The Festival for a further three years.
St. James's Place Wealth Management, headquartered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, not far from Cheltenham Racecourse, has supported the Foxhunter Chase since 2015.
Staged over the same extended three and a quarter-mile trip as the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup and also taking place on the final day of The Festival, the St. James's Place Wealth Management Foxhunter Chase is often referred to as the amateurs' Gold Cup, with all the riders being amateur jockeys.
On The Fringe captured back-to-back renewals in 2015 and 2016 with Nina Carberry in the saddle and wearing the famous J P McManus colours, while this year's race went to Pacha Du Polder, who was partnered to victory by Bryony Frost. Pacha Du Polder was also a fast-finishing fifth in 2016 when ridden by Victoria Pendleton.
The 2018 running of the St. James's Place Wealth Management Foxhunter Chase takes place on Friday, March 16.
Carey Buckler, Regional Head of Partnerships, Cheltenham & the South West, The Jockey Club, said: "I am delighted that St. James's Place Wealth Management is renewing the contract to sponsor the Foxhunter Chase at The Festival.
"They are a high-profile company with a strong local presence, with the headquarters in Gloucestershire, and we very much look forward to working with them over the next three years."
Dave Sutton, Head of Commercial Partnerships and Finance at St. James's Place Wealth Management, commented: "We're very proud of our Gloucestershire heritage at St. James's Place, so it's great to be able to provide our support for the Cheltenham Festival and sponsor the famous Foxhunter Chase for a further three years. The Festival is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the sporting calendar, and a wonderful occasion to be a part of."
