The Jockey Club today announces the return of Betfair to Cheltenham Racecourse with sponsorship of three races on New Year’s Day and two races on Festival Trials Day, including the Grade 2 Betfair Cotswold Chase.
This partnership comes as part of a realignment of Flutter Entertainment’s racing sponsorships, with Betfair now taking centre stage at both the January fixtures in the New Year.
The following races will be partnered by the brand:
New Year’s Day, Wednesday 1st January 2025
- The Betfair Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 2)
- The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase (Class 1) (Premier Handicap)
- The best odds on the Betfair Exchange Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 2)
Festival Trial’s Day, Saturday 25th January 2025
- The Betfair Exchange Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 1) (Premier Handicap)
- The Betfair Cotswold Steeple Chase (Class 1) (Grade 2)
Betfair, which has long been associated with innovation and customer-first initiatives, is excited to support these popular racedays which are a significant step on the road to Cheltenham in March and all races will contribute points to the ‘David Power Jockeys Cup’. The Flutter backed initiative which is currently gripping National Hunt racing.

The New Year's Day race meeting and Festival Trials Day will feature a thrilling line-up of races, setting the stage for the drama and excitement of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival. The feature race of Festival Trials Day is the Grade 2 Betfair Cotswold Chase which has produced fantastic renewals over the years with strong past winners such as Neptune Collonges, Frodon, and 2024 winner Capodanno for the Willie Mullins team.
