Dysart Enos gave local trainer Fergal O’Brien some extra Christmas cheer, when she thundered up the hill and hit the finish line in front under her regular partner Paddy Brennan in the meeting opener. This game mare was highly anticipated as a major British hope for the Cheltenham Festival in March, but unfortunately, we didn’t see her reappear at Cheltenham last season. She looks sure to return to Cheltenham again this season.
Ginny’s Destiny followed up on his win at the November Meeting, with Dan Skeltons Grey Dawning in second. However, Grey Dawning reversed the places at the Cheltenham Festival in March, getting the better of his rival Ginny’s Destiny in second, to win the Grade 1 Turners Novices’ Chase.
La Malmason continued Irish trainer Gavin Cromwell’s fantastic season at Cheltenham winning the Cheltenham Racecourse Food Bank Collection Mares' Handicap Chase. She was ridden by Keith Donoghue, who like his boss Gavin Cromwell enjoyed a great season in 2023/24 at Cheltenham.
