Style Wednesday

Wednesday 12 March 2025

Fast horses, slow fashion. The style is timeless and the glamour matches the glory.

Style Wednesday celebrates speed, style and exhilaration. Featuring the Queen Mother Champion chase, it is fast, furious, and requires a perfect blend of speed and an ability to be inch-perfect when negotiating each of the 13 fences at pace around Cheltenham’s legendary old course. The fastest Jump horses jumping at speed with the upmost precision and accuracy. It is simply spinetingling.

Unmissable action on and off the turf

The day was a whirlwind of speed and style in 2024, highlighted by Captain Guinness's thrilling win in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Rachael 'The Queen Of Cheltenham' Blackmore stole the show, accepting her trophy from Her Majesty The Queen Camilla.

The new 'Slow Fashion Awards' garnered immense popularity, highlighting vintage and borrowed attire, alongside timeless investment pieces designed to endure generations. Participants posed for professional photographs in our style pod at Best Mate Plaza, with three finalists ultimately selected. Fiona Andrew emerged as this year's lucky winner, claiming a £4000 Boodles voucher and additional prizes.

Away from the track, we were treated to a spectacle of stunning outfits as racegoers turned out in their finest attire, adding an extra layer of glamour to the festivities.

The day marked a historic milestone for legendary trainer Willie Mullins as he reached an astounding 100 winners at the Cheltenham Festival. Mullins, renowned for his expertise and dominance in the sport, achieved this remarkable feat with yet another display of excellence when Jasmin De Vaux claimed the win in The Weatherbys Champion Bumper. This followed earlier winners on the day from Ballyburn in the Gallagher Novices Hurdle & Fact To File in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase, marking 3 winners on the day for Mullins.

The Skelton duo clinched a double victory on Style Wednesday, with Langer Dan and Unexpected Party both racing to triumph in The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle and The Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase. Their wins added two more points to Great Britain's tally as they aimed to narrow the gap with the Irish.
