Competition Terms & Conditions

 

1. The Promoter is The Jockey Club, 21-27 Lambs Conduit Street, London, WC1N 3NL. (the "Promoter").

2. The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person is allowed.

3. The Competition starts Thursday 17th October 2024 and closes 11:59pm Wednesday 30th October 2024.

4. To qualify to enter the Competition you must be a resident in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and/or the Isle of Man.

5. The Competition is only open to entrants over the age of 18, and to those who have submitted a form via the Competition page.

6. One prize is available to be won. The prize comprises of 2 x Punters Package 'General Admission' tickets for The Colin Parker Memorial Chase Day on Sunday 3rd November 2024.. A free alcoholic drink is included (pint of house lager/beer or 175ml house wine) and a 'Racing Pie & Peas' snack with a hot drink at The Coffee House (subject to availability). Sale or exchange of the prizes is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to sell, transfer or exchange a prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by The Jockey Club and the prize will be declared null and void.

7. One winner will be picked at random using a random number generator on Friday 1st November 2024 and notified via email or telephone. Confirmation of acceptance of the prize Friday 1st November 2024. Failure to claim the will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner before selection of an alternative winner is made.

8. The winners and their guests will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to Carlisle Racecourse.

9. If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the Competition or invalidate any affected entries. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.

10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winners and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of Competition entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the Competition or won using fraudulent means.

11. The Promoter will not be responsible if the winner or any of their guest is unable to attend The Colin Parker Memorial Chase Day on the 3rd of November 2024 due to health or other reasons.

12. The Promoter will not be liable if The Colin Parker Memorial Chase Day at Carlisle Racecourse on 3rd November 2024 is cancelled, delayed or suspended as a result of an act, omission, event or circumstance which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.

13. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Competition or accepting or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.

14. This Competition is not open to employees of The Jockey Club, their families, agents, clients, suppliers, retailers, merchants or associates.

15. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, alter, vary, suspend or withdraw this promotion as the Promoter deems necessary in its absolute sole discretion.

16. The Promoter shall have the right in its absolute sole discretion to substitute any prize with one of equivalent or greater value. The prize or its alternative must be accepted as offered. No cash alternative will be offered in whole or in part in connection with this promotion.

17. By entering this Competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering prize fulfilment, it is necessary for The Jockey Club to securely hold and process your personal data.

 

18. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing that the personal information that you provided is processed in accordance with The Jockey Club’s Privacy Policy.

19. Data relating to entrants of the Competition will be retained by The Jockey Club for a reasonable period after the Competition closes to assist The Jockey Club to operate Competition in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries in the Competition. The winner agrees to the release of their first initial, surname and country of residence to any other Competition participants if requested. 20. The Jockey Club may process your personal data for marketing purposes with your consent, based on a legitimate business interest, or as otherwise permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all marketing emails.

21. If there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant, The Jockey Club may, at its sole discretion invalidate the prize and disqualify the entrant from the Competition.

22. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

23. Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on English law and the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction unless you live in another part of the United Kingdom, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
